Inspired by the Chef'sChoice® Five-of-Hearts WafflePro® waffle maker, "Flavors of America" TV host Chef Coleman created the "Woo'Em With Waffles" recipe to share with waffle lovers and romantic-minded consumers everywhere. It's a recipe that can be included in your culinary repertoire any time of the year and one that even makes a novice feel like a master chef when serving it!

Jim Coleman's "Woo' Em With Waffles" Valentine's Day Recipe:
Chocolate Waffles With Raspberries, Whipped Cream And Other Romantic Treats

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs - separated
  • 1/3 cup melted chocolate at room temperature or chocolate syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 cup butter - melted
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cups raspberries
  • 1 tbl. granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whipping cream
Directions 
1. Beat egg whites until stiff. Set aside.

2. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and sugar together.

3. Beat egg yolks with sour cream, milk and melted chocolate (or syrup).

 
For best results, use the Chef'sChoice® WafflePro M830 Five-Of-Hearts. If using the Chef'sChoice® Belgian WafflePro M830B design, use 1/2 cup of batter. When baking with other waffle irons, check manufacturer's directions for approximate batter amount.
4. Mix oil with melted butter, using a small bowl.

5. Add sour cream mixture-alternate with oil and butter mixture-to dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.

6. Fold in egg whites.

7. For first waffle, grease waffle iron with non-stick spray.

8. Pour 1/3 cup of batter into waffle maker.

9. Repeat for remainder of mix.

10. Whip the whipped cream until stiff and fluffy but not dry.

11. Top hot waffles with raspberries and whipped cream.

12. Decorate plate with heart-shaped chocolates, chocolate shavings, flavored syrups,
Valentine's Day trinkets, etc.

13. Serve'em up with hugs and kisses and enjoy your Valentine's Day delight!
